The Process

 Process - Step 1
 Process - Step 2 Process - Step 3  Process - Step 4 Process - Step 5
1. Consultation: in person | phone | web

Drop me an email or give me a call! With email and the internet it is extremely easy to interact with clients. And, for folks in the Milwaukee area who prefer face-to-face interaction, I’m happy to plan an in person meeting.

This is a great opportunity for us to get to know each other and learn all about your event! We will discuss your vision, inspiration, theme, colors and any other ideas you may have for your event. We know all too well the little details and ideas going through you head, and we are here to help you visualize and bring those ideas to life. We encourage you to bring along or send any inspiration ideas you have collected from magazines, websites and blogs. Those are really helpful in getting a better understanding of your vision. We’ll look at some samples, show you a variety of invitation formats, paper swatches and fonts, and figure out the best way to personalize your invitations to represent your one-of-a-kind style.

2. Customized Designs and Proposal

Here is where your vision and inspiration are put to paper! Electronic designs are created based on the conversations and ideas discussed during our consultation. Typically, three fully different invitation concepts are developed to give you a range of formats, fonts, layouts and colors options – all within your personal style and taste.

Your electronic designs will be emailed to you along with (or soon followed by) a proposal that maps out the project scope, timeline and cost breakdown. At this point, you have a very good idea of the look and feel of the invitation you like and are asked to return the simple contract and retainer payment of 50% of the total project cost if you want to move forward.

3. Review | Revisions

Now for the fun part – we work together to review and revise the design concepts, pulling your favorite pieces from each until you have the perfect invitations! We can design custom monograms, images and maps to fit with the invitation format. We will adjust, tweak and change until you are pleased. You will receive updated electronic proofs with each round of revisions.

4. Hard Copy Proof

We feel strongly that you need to see exactly what your invitations will look like before giving your final approval on the design – which is very rare among stationers. Electronic proofs just don’t do the designs justice, so at no additional cost to you, we create a full mock-up of your invitation (the hard copy proof) and mail it directly to you. Once it is in your hands, being able to see it and feel it will help you know if any last tweaks need to be made. It is important to review electronic and hard copy proofs for both design and content (i.e. spelling, wording, correct event details, etc.). We will incorporate any final changes, then you will submit your final approval of the design in writing. At that point, we will be able to begin production.

5. Your Stationery Arrives

You will be well-informed about production time and where we are at in the process. Your stationery will be shipped to you or can be picked up. Packages typically consist of organized bundles of each piece of your invitation suite. You will be responsible for adding postage, stuffing any insert cards and sealing/mailing your invitations, unless we make other arrangements. We highly recommend you take a fully-assembled invitation to the post office to be weighed so you can get the correct postage. Once they are mailed out, you will enjoy the many compliments you receive on your never-seen-before invitations!

We are happy to offer three delivery methods:
Hand Deliver | Local delivery around the metro Milwaukee area to agreed upon location
Ship To | Ship directly to your home or office. You will receive electronic package tracking so you know exactly when the delivery is expected. Shipping & handling fees will be added to the final invoice.
Pick Up | You can schedule a time to pick up the stationery from my home office.

Process Timing | The duration of any design process will vary depending on the type of project and how quickly we work and communicate together. Please take into consideration that the more time allowed for the creative and review|revision processes will result in ample time to make decisions and changes.

Payment | Full payment must be paid upon delivery unless there is a prior written agreement. Paper Pleasers, LLC accepts personal checks, cashier checks and credit card (small service fee on credit card charges).
